I found a slip of paper stuck in the Spacemummy paper manual that came with the kit, like it was an addendum. I never read instructions very well anyways. Those were incomprehensible. But I wish I had read this before I started. It might have helped me through my dork night of the soul I experienced after Set attacked me.
"Self-annihilation is a powerful compulsion, or perversion of a compulsion. Contrary to Freud, it is not a distinct drive. The fear of thriving is largely cultural. And to call it the most important philosophical question, as the existentialists do, is an absurdity. However, it is a barrier to break through. Buying this kit is an important step. By choosing mummification, you have figured out there is stuff you want to do, that you have a powerful dynamic to share. You are not going to let something as mundane as death stop you. You seem to want to persist on this planet to explore that. Mission accomplished, I say, even if you just feel like you have a lot more work to do.
"Once you have died, be happy that you are done. Do not linger too long in the mourning period. Move on to your afterlife.
"Recovery is a bitch. Post-existential depression can lead you astray. Stay on target. Lay a little yoga on yourself and prepare to leap again.
"I've been to ego death. I've been to the mourning place and attended my own funeral. I'm wrapped in linens now. They are a soft armor to replace the rigid piece of culture I had worn. Keep stretching and you'll be a supple corpse as well."
